Galaxy View and iPad Pro—Bigger is NOT Always Better

Galaxy-view-vs-Ipad-Pro

There was a time when companies were in a race of making gadgets smaller and smaller. Now, the trend has changed completely. Smartphone and tablet manufacturers are busy in making bigger and sleeker gadgets. Samsung took over the market when they launched mighty sized Galaxy Note. To stay in the pursuit of being the best, Apple dumped their orthodox sized smartphone and launched 5.5 inches iPhone 6 Plus. To be the leader in the world of tablets, Apple introduced the world with 12.9 inches iPad Pro, which is to be available in the markets soon. But, Samsung is not holding back, they have announced an 18.4-inch Samsung View to be available in the markets by Nov 6, just days apart from the iPad Pro. But, is really the bigger the better? Let’s have a look.

Samsung’s giant tablet seems to be superior to Apple’s large sized iPad Pro. The Galaxy View has a screen size of almost half a foot bigger than the iPad Pro. Thus, it is likely to give users a better experience while they use the device for media consumption. But, does the size is the only thing that matters to the users while watching videos or movies on a tablet. I am afraid, Samsung would be disappointed that solely screen size cannot make a product better than the other. If you analyze both the products, you will come to know that the strength of Galaxy View, i.e. bigger size, is also its weakness.

A bigger screen is something great to surf Youtube, enjoy movies on it, watch Snapchat videos and for other similar reasons. But, what Samsung Galaxy View lacks is the speed, with a RAM of just 2 GB; the device is likely to lag. You cannot enjoy multiple apps at once, which truly is a huge drawback. Whereas, on the other hand, Apple has equipped their new bigger member of iPad family with a 4GB Ram, which will surely give its users a better experience without any sort of lagging. A lagging video never entertain its viewers, thus, Apple defeats Samsung in this round of fight.

A movie with some mind-blowing special effects is always a treat to watch. But, if you are going to buy a Galaxy View and planning to watch“Avatar” on it, you have to keep the device at some distance. The reason for that is Samsung’s latest tab has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 which cannot provide a heavenly experience. Whereas, if you watch the same movie on the iPad Pro, the experience would be delighting as it bears the resolution of 2,732x 2,048 display. The picture would be clearer and crisper. Another field, where iPad Pro stands tall.

Another aspect that makes Galaxy View inferior to the Apple’s super tablet is its battery timing. Android’s latest version, 6.0 Marshmallow seems to be quite efficient with respect to battery. But, the big sized tablet is using Android’s previous version, i.e. 5.1 Lollipop, which has a reputation of draining battery quicker. So, as compared to the 10 hours battery backup of iPad Pro, Galaxy View’s battery backup can last for just 8 hours. Two long hours of battery backup can be a huge factor of difference between the two devices.

Other features of these two devices are quite comparable. While iPad Pro speeds up its task with the Apple’s latest 64-bit A9X chip, Samsung get it done by its Exynos 7580 octa-core 1.6 GHz processor. Moreover, both the devices start with 32GB of storage all the way to 128GB. Resultantly, both of the giants that are heading to the market by mid of November are fierce competitors to each other. But, the specifications mentioned above, clearly make Apple’s tablet, the more favorable one. So, one fact is proven, bigger is not always better!
